Fern Trading Ltd operates a large scale short and medium-term lending business. It is also the parent company of 200 businesses that operate on behalf of the group. More than half of the businesses Fern Group owns generate energy from renewable sources such as solar and wind. Other companies in the Group acquire sites for the development of solar energy farms, which once complete are sold to third parties.

Fern has recently combined four of its fibre companies, Jurassic, Swish, Giganet (including Cuckoo) and AllPoints Fibre. The vision of the newly combined company, Fern Fibre Trading Limited, is to deliver ‘fast and fair’ full fibre to all retail and business customers, across its expanded network, giving it the potential to challenge larger incumbents.
Vorboss is the UK’s only dedicated enterprise fibre network focusing on providing connectivity to London’s businesses, installing over 500km of fibre optic cables in the capital since 2020. Vorboss has also committed to offer 10 Gbps fibre to up to 15,000 businesses in Central London by 2027.
In late 2022, Fern added Elivia Homes to the Group. Elivia is an established house builder, developing mid-market family homes in London commuter towns and villages and now expanding to East Sussex and Kent. Fern will be supporting Elivia’s business plan to deliver 600 homes per year, including high quality affordable homes.
Rangeford Villages builds accommodation exclusively for the over 60s and operates the villages on behalf of its residents.
