Fern Community Funds

All of the wind farms that our Group owns and operates have community funds in place. The funds are annual payments that the community surrounding each wind farm can apply for and that are designed to support local activities, projects or people. The amount available to each community is based on the size and operation of the local wind farm.

Our Group contributes around £1 million each year across its community funds. Projects that we have supported recently include student scholarships, winter fuel subsidies, laptops and iPads for local primary schools and equipment for children’s parks and playgrounds.

Community Funds are administered by independent bodies. Three of our wind farms are administered by Fern Community Funds.
