Wryde Croft Wind Farm

Wryde Croft is a 13-turbine, 26MW wind farm that is expected to generate sufficient electricity to power over 16,000 homes a year. That’s the equivalent of saving around 15 Olympic sized swimming pools of coal each year and nearly 55,000 tonnes of CO2 offset. A wind farm is a group of wind turbines. The turbines operate on the simple principle that the wind turns around propeller-like blades, which spin a generator converting the energy into electricity.
