Westfield Power Station is a renewable energy generator specialising in converting poultry litter into electricity, operated and maintained by its 21 strong in-house team. It was the first poultry litter fuelled power station in Scotland when it was commissioned in 2000, and continues to provide an invaluable service to the Scottish poultry industry by way of a secure year round outlet for the disposal and recovery of biomass. The combustion ash is sold as fertiliser to the British agricultural industry, making this a truly sustainable business model.
