Hill of Auquhirie Wind Farm

Hill of Auquhitie is a 3 turbine, 7MW wind farm that is capable of generating sufficient renewable electricity to meet the requirements of more than 5,000 homes each year. That’s the equivalent of saving around 5 Olympic sized swimming pools of coal each year and nearly 19,000 tonnes of CO2 offset. A wind farm is a group of wind turbines. The turbines operate on the simple principle that the wind turns around propeller-like blades, which spin a generator converting the energy into electricity.
