Ely power station is a renewable energy generator that specialises in converting straw into electricity, operated by its 40 strong in-house team.  It was the first straw fuelled power station in the UK and has been generating green energy since 2000. Emissions from the combustion of straw are cleaner than from fossil fuels, so electricity generated in this way is close to carbon neutral over its life cycle.
